It isn’t too early to start encouraging your senior to think about joining in the entertaining fun of the traditional West Geauga Senior Show. The show will be Friday, April 17th and held at the West Geauga Middle School. The Senior show includes, dance, music, and comedy with a group or as a single entertainer. This show highlights the talented and amazing group of our seniors each year. Watch for more details to follow.
“It’s Time to Fly” and you can help the decorating committee get their wings! Looking for parents to volunteer their time to make this theme come to life. Help is needed with constructing props and setting the visual scene of various destination theme areas. Dads who can build a few structures can lend their helping hands and tools now to get the basic visual stage going.
After Prom is also looking for anyone wants to lend a few hours or become a dedicated volunteer to create all the details that make the theme come to life. No creative talent needed. If you can use a pair of scissors, then that is all the talent we need. Join us on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 and Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the decorating site in the West Geauga Plaza (between Turneys and It’s a Dog’s Life). January’s After Prom meeting is Tuesday, January 13th at 7:00 p.m. at the high school library. It’s hard to believe that After Prom is less than 130 days away. So much to do and so little time! Consider joining the After Prom team in helping us make the year’s After Prom, It’s Time to Fly, a safe, exciting and memorable time for our seniors! Every hour you can volunteer and every single dollar you spend to support our fundraising efforts is greatly appreciated!
Join us for a parents only post-Valentines event on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. for a wine tasting at Colonial Beverage, in Chesterland, Ohio. Samples of specialty wines and beer will be available for the tasting, along with delicious appetizers. A wine cooler and other silent auction items will be in progress, as well as enticing baskets to be raffled off at the event. Join other parents and friends for an evening of community. 18th Annual West Geauga Flea Market, Sunday, March 15th.
Save all your gently used, but no longer needed, household items to donate to After Prom. All household items accepted, except appliances and clothing. You can drop off your items on Saturday, March 14th from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Volunteers Needed! We would love to have you as part of our fundraising team to coordinate the West Geauga Flea Market! The Flea market is a great community tradition and our largest fundraiser. We need a leader to help us coordinate this event and continue our tradition. The After Prom team is also looking for parent volunteers to assist with organizing vendors from the community, bake sale, basket raffle and help with set up on Saturday, March 14th.
Vendors Needed! Booth space is also being reserved for all vendors. Cost is $25.00 for a 10 x 10 space and $45.00 for two areas. Any household item in good taste, including handmade crafts, fine arts, household items, antiques, and food goodies are welcome

The following is a summary of the meeting from December 2014. Fundraising was a focus of the meeting.
Fundraising (Marsha Marin) – Several fundraising ideas that were allocated in the budget, have not developed or not been profitable. Plans for a reverse raffle in mid-February have not been able to be finalized. Discussed additional fundraising ideas at length. This included:
- Road rally or photo scavenger hunt;
- Car raffle;
- TV Raffle at pancake breakfast in March;
- Wine night at Colonial Beverage or Aurora;
- Limo Raffle;
- Restaurant week or month;
- Prom Fashion show;
- Football squares;
- Poinsetta plant was not profitable;
- HoneyBaked ham sale was held for the Christmas holiday.
Settled on moving full speed ahead on coordinating a wine tasting around Valentines Day. Marsha will reach out to venues and start to coordinate. Marsha is looking for volunteers to assist with fundraising events.
Parent Donation (Robin Leuchtag not present): letter were mailed to all parents.
Business Donation (Maria Federico not present): business donation letters have been mailed to local business and colleges.
Decorating (Wayne Burwell): We have decorating site. Floor is prepped. Would like to start collecting cardboard. Need dads to help move things from the barn right after the holidays. Plan to make sets in stages. Will also need an electrician. Tamara confirmed with Andi Jahnke that her art students would love to help with After Prom.
Midway (Terri Lyles): The committee met last week and is planning to meet again next week. They are meeting with the decorating committee immediately after this meeting. They will have suggestions by the next meeting.
Prizes (Joan Bonfich): Some prizes have been purchased, but is being conservative on spending.
Food (Meg Clark): Is planning on setting up concessions at Girls Basketball games and possibly gymnastics.
No reports from other committees.
Discussion had again regarding the time of After Prom. Revisited discussion at the end of last month’s meeting. Since prom ends at midnight and the students have been staying the last couple of years to the end. Voted to have After Prom from midnight to 3:00 a.m.

After Prom is looking for volunteers to assist with the fundraising, decorating and flea market committees. It takes a village to fund raise and create the After Prom experience. Volunteer just a few hours or dedicate more. We are specifically looking for someone with experience with organizing a reverse raffle, someone to organize the bake sale for the flea market, basket raffle and vendor areas. Malley’s candy bars are available to purchase at the WG Boy’s basketball games and from Ann Allegretti. They make great stocking stuffers and to give as gifts to everyone you know who loves chocolate as special way to say happy holidays! After the holidays consider taking a box to sell at work, or to neighbors, friends and family. Each bar is $1.00 and After Prom makes a 50% profit to fund After Prom.
